What is AFCEA?

§  Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International, established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security.

Why should I be a member?

AFCEA Hawaii

§  More than 700 members in Hawaii representing the military, federal government, and industry.

§  From January - October on the second Tuesday of the month, AFCEA Hawaii conducts a luncheon in which key issues are presented by distinguished speakers.

§  Monthly recognition is provided to acknowledge individuals who have significantly contributed to the organization, the C4I field, and the community.

§  Host for the TechNet Asia - Pacific Conference – More than 3,000 attendees and exhibitors come to the beautiful Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton Waikiki Hotels on the beach at Waikiki.

§  Awards more than $36,000 each year in scholarships to outstanding students in the fields of mathematics, science, and computer technology. 

§  Supports the Hawaii State High School Science Fair with $15,000 for cash prizes for outstanding science projects annually. 

§  Provides cash awards to deserving Hawaii School teachers for their Science and Technology programs.

§  Funding is available to AFCEA Hawaii members wishing to improve their education and technical expertise. 

§  Financial support is available to help support educational seminars for AFCEA Hawaii members.

§  AFCEA Hawaii conducts semi-annual Membership Socials which provide opportunity for members to network or just "swap war stories" in an informal environment.  There's always lots of drinks and good food.
